About The New Relationship Trust

In the Spring of 2005, leaders from the First Nations Summit, the BC Assembly of First Nations, the Union of BC Indian Chiefs and the Province of BC jointly agreed to a new relationship, one based on respect, recognition, and accommodation of aboriginal title and rights."

One year later, the New Relationship Trust Corporation was created to help realize this joint vision by providing financial support to First Nation communities, organizations and individuals in BC.

With the goal of creating a stronger, healthier, more prosperous future for First Nations in BC, the Trust currently supports programs in five key areas: education, capacity, culture & language, youth & elders, and economic development.
